I've had some problems with Nero Express and tried several reinstall routines: from my factory disk and also from a download update. I got some errors saying 'all the files didn't copy, please reinstall' and when inspecting my disk, found a smudge on it. How can I clean this? I need some simple disk care info possibly. Aside from that, if I have a badly damaged Nero disk-- the one supplied with my burner, can I give the serial number at Nero to get a good and clean copy to install? The place where the prog. hangs is at Nero Vision when I try to load an AVI file. Previously I had some success making AVI to DVD. I've inspected this last of a group of AVI files and it plays normally in the Nero Viewer: vid, sound etc. Can the Nero Vision be upgraded or fixed separately? Well, that's all the possibilities I can think of.
If you have a genuine serial number then you should be able to go to Nero site and download current version of Nero, it will ask for your serial no.
From your link I am downloading the the Nero 7.0.5.4eng.exe That d/l commenced ok. When the installer runs, won't it puke out a serial number I have from Nero Express? Previously the installer I d/l'ed was the Nero 6.6.0.4 I think. The goal is to get a clean install from source. If the d/l fails what's the best method of cleaning the disk and starting over with that? I thought of isopropyl alcohol but I'd like to get another opinion.
On these links you find the info you need to clean Nero from your computer: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=113949 ftp://ftp9.Nero.com/attach/General-CleanTool_7.zip
Yep. Nero 7 showed it was installing a demo version. Nothing was said at the website that this would be a demo install. I have a nero 6 and I ran that. I have effectively bought the program with my burner. Why all this headache? Who has loaded one of these updates with the resulting program not hanging up? What is the exact link?
