I followed the whole guide but I can't find out why the sound is not working. Is there any quality differences between TMPGenc and ConvertXtodvd? I really want as good quality as possible.
Be sure you have all the codecs installed on your system for the ac3 problem. As for the encoder, try out HC encoder it's at 0.18 at the moment i believe. It is free and great quality. CCE is another option but is expensive. There are other free encoders like Quenc, Freeenc etc. At the end of the day it's personal preference alot like wine or cigars!
I can play the the divx "source" with out but extracted and packed with IfoEdit then the sound is "gone". I look at the bars and they doesn't move at all even if they should. But when I tested ConvertXtoDvd everything looked good.
