ok ive created my own thread and i would like help on how to ftp my xbox and also help with my action replay

well in my action replay i try to drag and drop the linux sid4 installer ect and all i get is a message saying error writing the save. should i get a new bigger memory card? o and ive down loaded every thing smart FTP, Dot halo, linux,sid4, winRAR, flash FXP, and all the dot halo plug ins what exactly do i got to do? i realy dont get modding but i realy want to do it and i no im alot of trouble to help but i would be very greatful for the help. o and use small modding words with me lol
If you can FTP then you don't need the action replay! I just FTP'd across the SID files directly to the memory card in a controller! However, that was via a hardmodded XBox in which case FTP was enabled! The SID4 installer isn't that big and it will fit on the standard memory card! So lets start again, do you have an Xbox that is currently modded in any way?
nope i need 2 start from scratch i have everything downloaded all i need is splinter cell o and wat version of splinter cell do i need? and i no that the sid4 isint that big and i dont have a mod chip all i got is an AR memary card and i think its broken because it dosent let me drag and drop anything all i get is error writing the save and ive tried almost every thing. oh and what exactly is a crossover cable? wear can i get one? also i no i must be anoying to teach but i realy dont get the ftp tut lol ima noob but help is very apreciated

i realy want to mod i dont want a limit on "new maps" i wan to mod old maps to mwahahahahahaha lol im getting a little a head of myself but if some one could help me with that that would be good and apreciated
ok i think i no wat to do as soon as i get a working action replay ill be all done ok tell me if im wrong okwat i do is put linux installer and sid4 on my AR then put in xbox put in splinter cell run linux itll freeze for a few seconds then do i have a modded dash?
Hold on there champ! You MUST copy the files from the memory card to the HD. Then after you boot them by using the FIRST Splinter Cell,, you will get a menu! The follow the instructions as in the link above!
ok i im getting a new ar on friday and thn im all set but how do i get my modded maps off my comp and on 2 my box through action replay or through ftp?
omg im about to give up soft moding i just got a new AR and omg wenever i try to drag and drop the linux it says error writing the save and usb failed to enumerate omg please i realy need help
Hi, i've also been trying to softmod for over 24 hours now. I have tried with Action Replay and Xploder. I am having exactly the same problems as nerd747. With Action replay i have finally got the memory card to be recognised and managed to fudge a .zip save with the Splinter cell original files and the launcher stuff in the 32BD42510BA6 folder now i get the error message when i try to copy to the memory card. The xploder the same problem i now can get the .gsx mod file to appear in the Xploder save manager but it errors out and shuts down the app or the save is not recognised as it may be not completing the transfer to the memory card properly(?!) I have made a USB cable to XBOX controller port and have tried 2 cameras, two card readers(all with 4 different brands of SD card), a USB stick and i always get a damaged media error message when i connect to the XBOX. I have looked at the compatible media on Wikipedia and am finding it difficult to get a USB stick locally that is compatible. I have visited many sites trying to solve all the problems and the troubleshooting guides always leave the most important things or problems out and am now really tired and frustrated. Is Softmodding actually possible or is it just an urban myth? Should i just bite the bullet and get a chip? Does anyone have any CLEAR instructions on how to get around the issues i have raised. nerd restart your computer with the AR usb plug out then once its back on put it in and then try to drag and drop.
