you must have the null cable in the wrong port , try a diferent port

 

i only have 1 9 pin port on my comp?

 

That indicates a bad connection some where along the line. Make sure everything is fitted correctly and possible try a different cable as well.

 

does the kv box need to be pluged in at the mains but turned of at the back as in the vid? also as i don't have a comp down stairs where my box is i after unplug everything and take my box to my computer will this affect it?

 

Turn the box off at the back first then press start on the loader once you have the file on it as per the video then hit the switch on the back of the box and it should start for you

no you can bring the box anywhere you like to flash it dont have to be connected to the tv only when watching it

 

Menu system info that will give you the date of the file you have on your box now it should have 03012011 if it has 2010 at the bottom you will have to flash the box with null modem to get the 2011 firmware on then you can put the april firmware on via your remote control

Kk m8 now let it finish after that then get the box connected back to the tv hook up all the cables ie virgin cable and ethernet cable.

Then follow 1 menu ... installation .... S/W update and just leave the box to update and follow on screen instructions after that follow below

Menu.... installation ... factory default ..... 0000 ... press ok box will then be empty just do your new scan as you did when you got the box first after that your good to go

quick up-date e45, done the full download, done th s/w update set factory default just on with scan now, will let you no after it finishe's,

Having read all of andym's posts, I think we can safely assume he is not a man with learning problems....and therefore may have had a little chuckle at my hospital comment.
