I have XP OS & I'm using Pioneer DVR-S606 with NERO v6, AnyDVD & DVDShrink. Here's what happened, everything works fine in the beginning till it reaches the "burning" or "writing". When writing it starts real smooth till 22% completion, it stop. The Green Light indicator turned OFF & stopped spinning. I'm not sure what's going but I'm sure it's one of what I'm using in the process.
    DVR-S606 requires media [bold]DVD±R/RW[/bold]..
    I'm using [bold]DVD+RW[/bold]. ← Could be this?

If there's anyone know the answer PLEASE help me because I have never burn a thing since I had it. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your burner doesnt like your media, what brand are you using and is your firmware up to date.

@copycat69, please dont PM me in relation to thread questions, against forum rules. I see you are using Memorex, which is the ONE brand that is NOT recommended by fellow AD members. Most problems are caused by their use, I suggest Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden, burn at a slow speed around 4x and see how things go.

@Gear,It's cool as long as my question is being answered. People do that in any forums which "newbie" like me has to deal with it.
I do that a lot @ Honda Acura forums especially to those white wannabe ASIAN. LoLz! Thanks though!

so is your problem resolved then?

@Gear, I just tried Verbatim media but it did the same thing as Memorex.
At 22%(writing) it stopped. Don't know if it's the drive or the software. If you have any idea please help me through this. Thanks!

Can you post a log of your failed burn, we may be able to pick up the problem that way.

yes, copycat, do as gwendolin suggested.. a nero log will be loads more help, as it will state what is happening and when the error occurs.
when your burn fails, it will generate a log... copy and paste that here, and instead of wasting another disk, set your burn to SIMULATE instead of write !!

a few things i see off hand....

thats waaaay old, 6.6.0.18 is available !!

i cant find a version to update this drive

you're a tad low on the memory side, plus the physical is low too..
buy a new memory stick, bump it up to at least 512 mb

    yet another problem... junk media
use verbatiim, or ty, fuji, maxell, sony... made in japan only...

assuming you just stuck a disk that has already been written on to run the log.. :p

set the DMA on the top one to ON
looks like you have a small hard drive.. 60 gig, just make sure its not totally full either..
clean out junk, defrag system too.

looks like a cd was there... at least to create the report

give some of that a go for starters... but most importantly, update nero, and only install the first 2 parts of the update..

    go here for the update..

    http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/nero-up.php

and d/l this to make sure InCd is not installed...

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/Nero_6_CleanTool.html

try it out, then get back to me !!
