First thing it says under features is that it UPSCALES ANY DVD PLAYBACK INTO HIGHDEFINITION RESOLUTION.

Yeah, but it doesn't look any better. And if that is a native resolution, it has to upscale all videos. There might be some lag in audio, upscaling to 1080p takes much resources.

Most if not all current 1080p tvs only display 1080p and do not accept external 1080p inputs, especially over digital HDMI which will require version 1.3 or higher (which isn't out yet). Not sure about the component inputs on 1080p sets though but I doubt they accept 1080p either. Although I'm sure something out there will do 1080p via external inputs.

Better read this review of the player first (not that great):

The upscaled picture is soft like others players I've tried (LiteOn 2001, Momitsu 880, etc.). Also, as mentioned above, upscaling doesn't usually improve anything: 480 is 480.

I'd heard the same, and just read that review. Is it worth the price...? Maybe not, but it's on par with a Momi 880 pricewise.
