    I have a lite-on dvdrw sohw-1673s that i have used for burning dvd's of all kinds for over a year now.I have used mainly nero (different versions) and now I cannot get anything to burn.I know of certain problems XP has with certain versions of nero and i have had problems before but i can usually get it to work, but now i am stumped...any help would be greatly appreciated:)

    Just to be sure whether or not it's your drive, try burning with another app. ImgBurn is excellent.

    Well i tried Imgburn and it also failed...does this mean my burner is toast?

    What error message do you get? What type of media are you using? Do you have programs running in the background? There are a lot of factors that can lead to burn failures. Try to give as much information as you can.

    I am using dynex media which is a best buy brand ...i know they arent prefered but this problem was happening with my sony disks as well and i have burned lots of those before this problem occured. they Imgburn failure is I/O error!

    The media is most likely your problem. You need good quality like Verbatim.

    Still sounds like media. Try blowing a little air at your lense or soft cloth. Maybe just dirty then try a burn with cdspeed.
