Assuming the TV is 4:3 and you don't want the 16:9 video displayed in a letterbox, you can change the aspect ratio using 'DVDPatcher' It would be best you work on a copy of the file. Each of the .VOB Title files (VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, etc) is patched as shown in the picture. Note the source Bitrate, Horizontal and Vertical sizes and Framerate on the right pane are reflected on the left. The new Aspect Ratio and 'Entire File' is selected then the 'Patch Now' button clicked. The media player should display the new format - best checked before burning. http://www.wincesoft.de/
If the DVD player is set for standard (4:3) TV, a 16:9 DVD movie should automatically be displayed in letterbox format.
