I have just bought my first Mini DV camera, the canon ZR60. I have a 16:9 TV, but am one of only 2 in my family to have one. I would like to shoot in 16:9 for myself, but was wondering if there was any way to convert the picture when recording it for my parents or other family members so that it won't look compressed? I guess the look I'm going for is like if you were to watch a regular tape or DVD on a 4:3 TV with the letter box bars on it. Please be gental, I'm very new to this video camera stuff and will need to be told in a way a 2 year old could understand.

    Thanks in advance!

Larry, that is very easy to do with VirtualDub, using a simple "resize" filter.
