a 160gig drive will work. you will need to flash your chip with a bios that supports drives over 137gigs. I'm using the latest M7 from evox that has support for drives over 137. Not sure what version for xecutor bios, I don't have one of those, but there is a bios for that chip that supports 137Gig+

get the latest evox M7 bios. you'll be good :) If you get the slayers 2.5 install you can just boot from the disky and flash your chip from there, it will also setup your hard drive (rebuild Large drive) with all the apps you need. there are other installers. I've only known slayers, it works great for me. I've a 200gig maxtor. flashed the bios, setup the drive and and installed all the apps. rebooted without the disk and viola, all set to go.

yeah same question. What do I need to do in order for a 160 G Maxtor hd to work. 160 Gigs for 100 bucks at compUSA, not bad huh. Also anyone know of where I can locate the programs I need to download. My email is supraedward1@juno.com

You can use XBTool to edit the bios for that large a harddrive and then you will need the EvolutionX dash v1.8.3921

You can find XBtool on xbox-scene.com

so XBtool, and EvolutionX dash v1.8.3921 is all I need. What do I need to back up dvds, games, and play music and maybe the older emulators. Don't I need mame for the emulators. Also what is the difference between the several different versions of evox. I keep finding several versions and I don't know which one I would need to get. Im trying to do this all myself as you can see. Is it really all that difficult to mod the xbox?

To start you'll need the EvoxM7 bios and EvolutionX dash v1.8.3921 since those are the newest releases.
The easiest thing to do would be to find an Auto Installer to install the dash and the apps you'll need on the harddrive.

SlaYers_EvoX_Auto-Installer, is this what you are talking about to install applications and dashboards? what is the difference between applications and dasboards? I looked up some tutorials but its still kind of sketchy for me.
