1st gen starview box

hi all so new here i probably shouldnt even be here

i purchased a 1st gen sv box from a m8 when i got it home i did a scan and had all the channels after switching the emu on
after 3 weeks it went down i got the rs232 cable and he told over the phone to dwn load the gtrom loader so i did then he said dwn load
cryptstar v1.5 core 400 bin file i did then phone went dead now he dnt answer phone any help on this
