I'm using avi2dvd to encode my avi's to dvd. I have a lot of movies which exist out of 2 parts. I saw in the avi2dvd guide this wasn;t a problem, but it won't work for me. I have the two parts in the same folder and called them like it says in the guide. Then I load in part 1 and the subs for part 1 and then go. But I still got only half. I use the video_ts, is .iso better? Also my DVD-menu doesnt work. Do i have to save it somewhere? Thx in advance, Spit
Well I don"t use AVI2DVD because I find it easier to Simply encode My Files to Mpeg-2 Myself and then author them to DVD useing a DVD authoring program as opposed to Following a Bunch of Steps that mean nothing to you and don"t understand..... You can probably overcome this Problem if you Simply Joined your 2 AVI files together before trying to put them on to DVD.... You can Join most AVI Files together useing "Virtual-Dub"....You just Load in your First AVI file and then go to "Video" and set it to "Direct Stream Copy" and then go to "Audio" and set that to "Direct Stream Copy" and then go to "File" to "Append AVI Segemnt" and load in the second AVI file..... When you are ready to save the 2 Joined Files you just go to "File" to "Save as AVI" and Give the File and Name and save it and in a Few Minutes you will have a New File that consists of both Files Joined together..... If you get a Message Saying that the Audio in your AVI files are "VBR MP3" format then you will have to decompress the audio in your AVI files before Joining them together which you can do by running the 2 Files through this Tool and then Joining them... http://www.megaupload.com/?d=J7HNW11I Cheers
Thx for the advice but how do I decompress the audio? And how can I join the two subtitle files? Grtz, Spit
Ohhh...I forgot you had subtitles, I don"t have a Clue how to Join subtitle files as I never use Subtitles because I refuse to watch subtitled Movies.... Sorry I can"t help
Are you sure that your files are EXACTLY the same? i use this program also. for example: wrong= starwarsfilm1 CD1.avi starwarsfilm2 CD2.avi right= starwarsfilm1 CD1.avi starwarsfilm1 CD2.avi the title must be exactly the same at the exception of the cd part (you also gotta do that with your subtitles but you already know that im sure) if this doesnt work, tell me the settings you use
I have this problem also. My AVI files are XviD. I named the two files "video CD1.avi" and "video CD2.avi" but AVI2DVD (ver 0.4.3) still would only process the first half. (Tried several times, many hours for each attempt, of course). So I tried joining them using VirtualDubMod and I now have one big AVI file with the complete video in it. (This can be played back in Nero Showtime as the complete movie with sound and there are no problems.) HOWEVER, when using this (joined) AVI file with AVI2DVD, it STILL only processes the first half! Any ideas why this is so? (I used the HCEnc as per the AVI2DVD guide here at AD). Then I tried using the TMPGenc guide instead, and I was able to burn a DVD with the full movie on it, but NO SOUND! AAAHHH! This is driving me nuts. AVI2DVD gets me good picture and sound, but only the first half of the movie. TMPGenc gets me the whole movie but without sound. I must be doing something wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
