Will 2 surfboard modems work on 1 line ?
If the nipper upstairs wants to online game my speed decreases,
So can i fit another modem downstairs to improve my connection.
I guess it would need a different mac addy too.

    Any help gratefully received.

If you have 2 modems you need to call your ISP and let them know you have 2 modems, then tell them the MAC address so they can add that.

I have never tried to hook up two cable modems to the same line, so do not quote me on this, but I do not think you can unless you contact your isp. They will most likely charge you for another line (I could be wrong). You might want to look at getting a router with QoS. QoS (quality of service) will let you decide which computer gets the majority of the bandwidth. Or you could talk to the other person and work out some type of "internet schedule". Just my two cents.

jabus, theoritically it should work but might not have full speed as before as not certain on that. will need a splitter that connects the 2 modems to the cable.
