    ...how do I quote other posters so that what they said is in an indented
    box?

    and...

    ...How do I see how old a thread is?

    the quote question answers itself once you read what it says above the little window that you type your reply in, and a threads age can be determined by looking at the dates that are in it, D*****S

    You have to end your quote with [*/quote] without the asterisks
