This is an old slimline writer that's in need of a firmware update. This is an 8x writer trying to read and burn 16x discs. Update your firmware and get some good 8x media like Tayio Yuden.
This is what I was beginning to suspect too. the thing is, the burner is in a fujitsu amilo pro v8010 laptop and, i think, i can't do anything about the firmware. i guess i'll have to look out for old x8 dvds to burn on to... any more thoughts? thanks so much
Tayio Yuden 8x are not old. http://www.supermediastore.com/sear...m=Taiyo+Yuden&s=a&b=&a=&mm=&brand=Taiyo Yuden
