Hi, I gots a problem... Before: Hard Drive #1 (100gig) = WindowsXP Hard Drive #2 (47gig) = files and stuff Inbetween: Linux Fedora Core 3 was installed on HD #1 (Dual Boot with XP; XP on the first partition, Linux on the other parition). After: Hard Drive #1 = Fine Hard Drive #2 = Gone. I need to access my personal files on HD #2, but it doesn't show up in Windows explorer. It doesn't even show up in DOS (tried booting to a win98 boot disk, and looked in FDISK). Weird thing is, it DOES show up in Windows Device manager, it shows that it's working properly and everything, yeah, but why isn't it in explorer? Everything is set right, HD #1 is on primary master, #2 is on primary slave (DVD and ZIP drive are on slave-primary/master). ???
HD #1 is fat32 for XP partition, and whatever the default one is for Fedora 3 partition, I think it's called ext3fs? As for HD #2, I have no idea...it's not my computer, it's my dad's, and I will just get a weird puzzled look asking him what file system is on the other drive. It might be fat32, or maybe NTFS.
OK...but how do I access HD#2 from WinXP installed in HD#1? I don't know how to check in Linux to see if it can see it. And I don't have Win98...That's all the info I have at the moment, is that not enough to solve the problem, or am I forgetting some other info? Does anyone else have a clue? Like I said, it's not my computer and stuff, I just use it sometimes, and I need to access some personal files that I put on HD#2. My dad being a comp n00b isn't really helping either lol
