whats the best speed that you can burn i use 16 x verba, and i use nero tu burn but someone told me that 16x its too fast any suggestions,
You got it libg. I've burned at 8x on 8x & 16x media for over 2 years on no problems on my end. Check it out - my guess is if your where burning at 16x speed w/ no burn errors or playback problems 8x will be fine. I'll sometimes burn faster but not really much of a diff in saving time so I usually just stick w/ 8x.
hey thanks binkie and by the way i bought an epson printer, so can print into the dvd, but how do i do it like i back the movie first the print into it or print first and then burn, thanks again.
libg you want to burn the movie or data to the disc frist and then print on it.( thats how i do it)Also you might want to make sure the movie or what ever you burned on the disc plays fine before printing the cover on the disc it self.
I agree with redice Print after you have burned the DVD and make sure it is not a coaster. That way you will not be waisting printer ink on a DVD that is an unplayable coaster. I also agree with all the others that said to burn at half the speed.
@libg Yeah as the others said burn 1st then print. Just me but I rarely check them 1st before printing - if you're new at this then I definitely would. Check out supermediastore for the printable TY and Verbatim discs. You can get full hub printable, silver inkjet & non hub printable. I also buy my ink for the epson there - looks just like the Epson ink but much cheaper.
Just like binkie7 posted- The shiny inkjet printables look sweet. The ink carts avg around $15 for the set of 6 at supermediastore.com. They even go cheaper from time to time. Burn speed: The old saying was slower,the better.Not the case with Verbatim 16x media. These discs were designed to be burned faster. Keep it at least 8x. Stick with Taiyo yuden,Verbatim,or the Japanese Maxell hitachi when it comes to inkjet printable media. Avoid the taiwanese maxell,memosux,prodisc,etc.
Nero recode was only letting me burn at 8x...should I just let that happen, or should I make a copy of the recoded file, and then burn thta manually at 4x?
lesstjake: If you got a good burner and using verbatim media-either 8x or 16x rated speed: 8x should be ok. There's 1 thing with those 16x verbs,you gotta watch out if you're trying to burn them slow. Are you ripping and burning on the fly? Single dvd-rw drive or Dual drives? When I do on the fly,I'll set my speed at 8x,but for some unknown reason,it burns at 4x.
im burning taiyo's with the burner that came with my laptop, and its not burning on the fly, nero recode rips the dvd to the drive then it burns it

Hey libg Use these instead - link for the R260 - these are compatible with it. @lesstjake You should be fine w/ 8x on laptop burner and TY. Any problems though may want to save to the hard drive 1st - then set your burn speed to 4x or 6x. Using 1 drive to read & write from can limit the burn options depending on what's supported on the source disc.
Thanks. I'll leave the 8x's alone but from now on when Nero Recode is done i'll just copy the folder and then burn that one to a disc at 4x
Not a problem lesstjake You can set recode to save to a hard drive folder instead of the burner - then pick the folder under browse. Use burning rom or express - dvd video option - and burn that folder. Not much of diff time wise doing 2 steps.
