300Gb hard drive for xbox 1

    Hi , just wondered if someone could help me , i would like to put a Maxtor maxline 3 , 300Gb hard drive in my xbox 1 , and at this point can i say i'm a technical moron , i done some reading , and i see that most drives only show about 120 or 137Gb , although i do believe u can get round this , my xbox has a super aladdin chip in it , and its a version 1.0 xbox , i would be really grateful if someone could give me some help , and if there is someone kind enough, could u pretend u are telling your 5yr old , and make it very simple for me , i assure u i do need the help

    no experience with chips but i softmodded my xbox and installed a 320gig and all you need to do to get the full space is format the G: drive using unleashx.

    hi james thanx for ur help , but i think the process is different for chipped boxes, but thanx any way, cheers .... Ernie

    You are in the wrong section, If your xbox has a mod chip that means it's hard modded and you should be in the hard mod section. The first topic in that section explains how to prepare a hard drive using a mod chip.....

    Make sure you follow directions, the first ones are for softmod xbox's and the ones below that are for the hardmod boxes.

    hey you might want to check and see if your bios supports the LBA4 or something like that which is basically going over 137GB. If it doesnt then there is an application to run during your boot up to load a custom bios.
