I am planning to purchase a 3CCD DV camcorder. I'm not sure if I should pay the extra money since home movies get compressed when burned on DVD. I am currently using Video Explosion Deluxe for editing and MyDVD for burning. Will I see better quality, or should I just stick with a regular DV camcorder? e-mail me at ben.esteva@nextel.com Thanks in advance.

no matter what you are editing on, and what format you are exporting to, using a 3 chip camera will ALWAYS give you better quality than a single ship. The resolution per color is much greater. If you really want to get into editing, get adobe premiere. those other ones you are using don't stand a chance to premiere pro. besides being a full-blown editor, it can also export directly to dvd as well.

I agree, the issue is more about final resolution. You have to also look at color saturation and lack of color bleeding. For the extra cost of a 3ccd camera, you do get a better picture.
