Hi, Just tried dvdfab platinum and it has a 4300mb as default on dvd5 brands?Isnt that a little low??? Anyone?
the default is there for all sorts of manufacturers media made, so they put it at 4300MB because the lesser quality media might not record properly getting any closer to the edge of the media. But the better quality media (Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim) can be written as close to the edge without quality loss or reading errors..... 4400MB or 4424MB is as close as you want to get. it's just the default setting. the drop down menu you can customize it to your liking.

be careful...... even the better quality disks have it's limits. You don't want to make a coaster now do you?
Hi, I may be stupid and just plain lucky, but I set my default to 4480 Mb. I use Ritek Ridata discs and Taiyo Yudens MIJ. So far after 10K of burns, not a coaster yet! It's good to be lucky.
