5.1 audio

    is there such thing as and audio source that puts up a flag for like 5.1 or dts

    What do you mean by flag? The only way to get true 5.1 (Left, Right, Center, Left Surround, Right Surround, and LFE) or higher (add a Center Rear speaker for 6.1 or Left Rear and Right Rear speakers for 7.1) surround sound is to connect your system using digital connections. Digital connections will be either Optical (Toslink) or Coaxial (RCA) in type.

    The only flags I have ever heard of contain Dolby Pro Logic Surround (DLPS) info embedded into the L/R analog audio streams. But DPLS only produces info for four speakers (Left, Right, Center, and "Mono" Surround).
