    Hi,

Lmao I decided to do a google search and here is the link to answers I came across http://www.google.com/answers/threadview?id=427306.

@Anthony7 if this is a school related question I suggest you be a bit more clear next time regarding the purpose of what you are trying to do so we can provide an answer.

Your url didnt work. And yes this is school related, though i am asking for someone else.
To be more specific, there is a glass of water with unknown temperature. You have to figure out the temperature of the unknown glass without using a thermometer.
I was wondering if this will work.
You boil another glass of water with the same volume to 60 degrees. Then you mix this water with the unknown glass or water with equal volume. Then you measure the temperature with a thermometer (you only cant use a thermometer on the unknown glass). If the combined temp is 40 degrees. Then is it safe to assume the unknown temp was 20 degrees? (20+60)/2= 40 degrees.
One of my co worker said you can measure the time it takes to boil it, and using a series of formulas, the original temperature can be obtained. But that sounds like it will leave a large margin or error.

ive got an idea...takes time though, ok now get a paracetomal tablet or what ever and put it in a glass of water. Measure the temptreture of the water and see how long it takes for the tablet to dissolve. divide each second by the tempreture and you will get the reaction time. e.g it took 30 seconds to dissolve in a 60.c water...so the reaction time is 2_per seconds to dissolve. den do it again...get the flow...? if you do it again and it takes longer to dissolve, then you know the glass is colder becuase the paracetomol took longer. work the rest out...lol its kinda hard but youll get the flow...
