I'm new here im not sure if i have posted this information into the correct place but i have a major problem with my computer.

    Problem:

I was burning a movie with dvdxcopy about 30 minutes into it my computer made a noise inside the tower like when the computer just shuts off, but everything froze on my screen and computer was running to i shut it off and then i noticed the harddrive lights were still on after 2 minutes so i turned it off from back still they were on so i pulled the power cord out of the back and it was still on the lights. does anyone know what might of happen and what i should do not to have this occur to me again?

weird about the lights still on even tho the switch was off on the back. possible warning the hd is dying. download diagnostic program from hd manufacturer & run it to see the status of the drive.

see if can get a hd fan cooler to help cool the hd down or fit a fan in front of the case to blow air over the hd if your tower is setup to do that.
