a program to view jpeg(s), photographs, etc on my CPU

    I remember in the old days (windows 95)that you could just double click a jpeg image and it would open in a large screen that you could window maximize to full screen. Now I try to open images and I get prompted by JASC paint shop to buy their products.

    I guess I forgot to buy an 'image viewer'(?) when I customized my Dell PC with windows XP. Is there a image viewer that I can use for all purpose image viewing for saved internet jpegs and photographs from digital memory cards?

    Any help appreciated.

    have a look at irfanview its freeware

    yeah i like irfan view...i had it on my 98 OS. it was actually pretty good, i prefered it over Corel Photoshop actually.hmm i dunno why ure getting that message tho.

    ok right click on you photo, then click on properties, then you should see a screen like this:

    then click on change [which ive circled]

    and there should be a list of programs. choose "Windows picture and fax viewer"

    then click ok and click apply and you should be able to view your photos without that jasc proggie.
