I was just wondering if anyone knows the compression rate of this format. When I rip music in Winamp, this is the default file. The quality seems to be great, but I don't know the actual compression rate and I would like to see how it compares to wma and ogg formats. Thanks a bunch.
The .m4a ([bold]M[/bold]PEG-[bold]4[/bold] [bold]A[/bold]udio) is a file extension used to denote AAC files. .M4A explination: http://www.filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=m4a&goButton=Go M4A definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M4a AAC audio info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Audio_Coding Ced
I still haven't managed to find the actual compression rate, but I did find that m4a is rated over wma. Don't know about ogg though. Btw, thanks Diablos.
