I currently have system with 1GB of 533MHz RAM. I am thinking of buying another 1GB but at 800MHz.

So I was wondering how RAM works when you have two which work at different speeds. Will the 800MHz module actually work at 800MHz or will the 533MHz module limit the 800MHz module to run at the same speed as the 53MHz one?

Might me a weird question but I've always wondered about this cos if it's true that I might as well just buy another 533MHz one instead right.

the 800mhz will downclock to match the 533mhz.

if your system supports 800mhz, best is to buy a 800mhz 2gig kit.

    Agreed, and they're hardly expensive.
