PST - Motorola's PST is a program used in service centers across the country and world for basic repair and upgrading of motorola phones. Features include flashing/flexing phones, changing NAM settings, etc. Not available for legal download to the public, only available in Motorola Service Centers. But here we go http://www.free.cz/motorola/PST_6.7_GENERAL.zip and thats the patch http://www.free.cz/motorola/PST_6.7_Patch.zip _____________________________________________________________________ SECTION 3: PRODUCT SUPPORT TOOL(PST) OVERVIEW PST is used to flash/flex your phone, to enable the Java App Loader (this can also be achieved by a simple seem edit) that is necessary to install java games, amongst other things. INSTALLATION Stage 1: 1) Unzip all the software. Note: Do not plug your USB cable into your phone until Step 9. Stage 2: 2) Double click on the PST_6.7_GENERAL program to run it. 3) Go through all the usual install questions etc(eg licence agreements etc) until you come to InstallShield Wizard Complete. It will ask you if you want to restart your computer - click on No, i will restart it later, then click Finish button. 4) Windows will then automatically bring up a Welcome to the Windows XP Q814560 Setup Wizard dialogue. Allow these to be installed. 5) After they've installed, i got a Q814560 Setup Error dialogue. This dialogue just says: Setup has detected that the version of the Service Pack installed on your system is lower than what is necessary to apply this hotfix. At minimum, you must have Service Pack 1 installed. Click the OK button. This doesn't have any bearing on the installation whatsoever....or at least, not that i've ever noticed . Stage 3: 6) Copy all the files from the PST_6.7_Patch directory, and paste them into the main PST directory where it installs (ie C:\Program Files\Motorola\PST). Stage 4: 7) Take the p2kman_pst directory, and place it in the PST directory. These are the drivers for both PST and the old version of p2kman (build 26.02.2004). 8) Now restart your computer. Stage 5: 9) When the pc has restarted, plug your USB into the phone. 10) A Found New Hardware Wizard should now appear for some new drivers to be installed. Select Install from a list or specified location . 11) Click Next button. 12) Then select Search for the best driver in this location. 13) Tick Include this location in the search only. 14) Click on the Browse button to specify the directory where Windows is to locate the drivers - make sure that you point it to the directory: C:\Program Files\Motorola\PST. Do this for each of the drivers. 15) Once they are all installed, PST is now ready to use. PRACTICAL ISSUES E398: You may have to remove your transflash to be able to use PST. E398: In your phone's menu, go to Main menu -> Settings -> Connection -> USB Settings. Change Default Connection to Data/Fax Connection. [bold]these r all from the stickie threads!!![/bold]
