AC3 Audio in VirtualDubMod

    I have an MKV file I am converting to AVI, but I would like to retain it's AC3 audio. I want to know how I can go about doing this. I know the process for MP3, but I can't see an option for AC3 when I select compression for the certain audio stream I want to save to my computer. What codec will I need to install to be able to do this?? Thanks a lot for your help :)

    To keep an audio stream, you don't want to compress it. Same goes for mp3. Default is direct streaming, which is what you want.
