God im so frustrated. I'm following your guide on how to put video with ac3 onto vcd but im having so many problems. You say in the guide to use virtualdubmod but when i try to use this it says i need some missing .dlls, However i got the original virtualdub to work and then i got to the be sweet part (converting ac3 to mp2). In your guide you say to use a certain mp2 from the files in the top right (this however doesn't appear in my be sweet i have two different mp2 to choose from. they are mp2 for svcd or mp2 for dvd. which do i choose? i want to make a vcd. anyways i tried them both and when i push the green ac3 to mp2 button a error message comes up saying azid dll. missing or outdated. Surely be sweet and be sweet gui should come with all the correct dlls? please help. Im tearing my hair out!

Save yourself some time and learn how to encode divx/xvid with ac3 audio to VCD with DVD2SVCD and TMPGEnc or CCE SP!! It's actually very easy and the ac3 sound shouldnt be a problem!

Yes you can and what it would do is

Encode the audio first to mp2. then use TMPGEnc to encode the video to vcd and then bbmpeg to muliplex the video and audio stream and then make images (.bin/.bue) for you to burn directly to a cd!

thanks yet again. I'm really sorry but I'm going to have to pick your brain yet again. I've opened up the program and it is so complicated! all I wanna do is convert my ac3 sound to mp2. Please write me a step by step guide. I beg you. I tried to read a guide but it makes no sense, I don't wanna rip no DVD, Thats already been done for me. I just wanna convert the sound and then multiplex the whole thing. Please help.

I suggested the program because I thought you meant that you wanted to encode something to vcd/svcd. If all you are trying to do is the sound then look for other programs!

hi again, no i do want to encode using this program. I followed a guide and I thought I'd finally cracked it when I watched my vcd version. For some strange reason the sound stops playing after 3 minutes. The video is fine but the sound just ends after 3 mins. I thjought it was quite a small file size when I saw it, now I know why with 3 mins of audio out of a possible 1 hour :)I noticed on the bit where I lose the audio the frame jumps around a bit. Could this be the reason? however I watched the original avi file and the sound worked the whole way through. please help. (you have been gr8 so far :)

There might have been a frame error in the avi that the encoder couldnt play through so try using something like avifixed to see if it finds/fixes anything!

hey again. I tried the frame fix, nothing again. I used a guide to do the whole process but I had to 'guess' some of it myself as the guide used a different encoder, i chose tmpgenc the guide used cinema or something. i can't actually find a guide which uses tmpgenc as the encoder. I tried a different way of making tmpgenc play my ac3 sound and that was going into environment settings and changing the priority of one of the options (i read it in a guide) this lets me have the audio stream, however when i try to start the process I get an error msg come up. I'm just not gonna win am i.

ok, when I try to set the source range an error msg keeps coming up saying 'divided by o'. however i ignore this and after ive set the settings it starts to convert and then an error msg comes up which says 'the error occured when ACM was initialised'. Could i just somehow convert my ac3 to wav or mp3 and then just put it as the audio source and then tmpgenc will automatically sync it with the video source?

ok, thanx. what ive done now is converted my ac3 to mp2 using be sweet. i then mutiplexed the 2 files using tmpgenc. it works perfectly until bout half way and then the sound and video fall out of sync. the sound plays too far before the video. when i was multiplexin a msg came up saying something about the buffer. is this because i had kazaa and other programs running whilst i was multiplexing?

Could be but I'd kinda doubt it! Ok, if you have ac3 on a vcd/svcd then IMO the best thing to do is use DVD2SVCD. I know I already mentioned it but it really gives no problems once you sort out everything in it. Yes it can be hard to get used to but, hey, im here to help if ya need it!

The Subtitles is really no problem at all!

Was it a .mpg file. If so then, you will have to find the mpeg-2 plugin, which i dont know where to get unfortunately!
