Can anyone please assist me on getting some deleted footage back. I was creating a montage and in the final stage of a 2 day editing session, when in the content portion of my nero project I hit delete instead of edit. I have tried to find my 2day project but with no luck. Is my hard work gone? will I have to sit down for another two days and try to recreate what I thought was magic? I'm pretty bumbed out about it because it was footage of a important memorial service, pics, etc for a family that lost their son. Everything was ready to be burned to the disc. I had two video titles, the first being about 10 min. The second (most important footage) was about 15 minutes/two chapters and two songs. This is the one I accidently deleted. Is there help for a struggling computer kook?
I believe that when you hit delete instead of edit that Nero removed that footage from your project but the actual files that you imported should still be on your hard drive.
Thanks guys, I tried system recover to a earlier date but no luck. I also down loaded "launch data recovery" no luck. Then i read that I can use my nero 8 to get deleted files, but for some reason that's only on disc, cd's, etc. I can't get it to recover from hard drive. Hey Rotary or Dialysis1 what apps would you recomend for this type of screw-up? I really appreciate your help... Rotary thanks again!
if you know some places to grab files, look out for HIRENS BOOTCD it has a few data recovery tools on there and lots more other stuff that is very useful... ;-] make a cd of it or load to a virtual drive, then look in recovery section...
I still don't see how Nero would delete the file. I've tried it. It will delete (remove) it from the current project but my files are still on the computer.
10-4 Rotary! I'll give it a try. I know they say nothing is ever really lost on a computer so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I put alot of hard work into that memorial project so I hope I can recover it. Thanks to "real" people out here helping us newbies maybe there's hope. You guys are the bomb! I'll post what happens tommorrow when I work on that project. Thanks again....
yeah not sure on the deletion part, but... i have managed to pull files back before, had to try a few apps though good luck...
Yea Dialysis, I'm pretty blown away too! I have been doing these montages for my family for years now and I have never had this happen. I can't find it no where! I feel like duh...
yea 10-4 thanks! What's scarey is I was able to pull all sorts of deleted files and junk, but nothing from nero was found!
Yea I know! Deep in my heart something is telling me "start over time". I guess it's a good thing I do have all the footage, pics, etc. But it will never come out the same! Alot of times when I do these montages they just kinda float together, especially the memorial ones. This was a nice piece of work that I doubt I can recreate, but I guess that's loving what you do. Like you guys helping us out..... Thanks PS: I'm not giving up hope just yet! If the Feds and what not can pull info from a 10yr old busted and burned hard drive, then dog-on-it, I can too(I mean we)!
love it fight the good fight... i know what you mean on a project falling into place, i did same on a landscaped garden, i took pics all way through old garden transforming to new garden, with music from chinese water garden film, came out friggin awesome, chopped mp3 up, set timer in nero play menu specific length, set 3d transitions etc... my first and only go at this... thats part why i been helping you... its not just a project its a hobby and a passion and the feeling and emotion that you pour into it, and the excitement of the end result played and veiwed by other is a satisfaction in itself... ok ok ill shut up now was good though.....
You are the sh** Rotary, you explained it to the tee! I was on a roll with this project, you know when certain smiles or hugs at the right moment, at the right part of the song... just fit perfectly! Damn I'm get'n teared up think'n about what's gone! This project was for a surfer friend of mine that passed. So I had all kinds of footage from 6 dvds. Memorial servise, a paddle out servise, after gathering, etc. I had to sit down for almost 3days just to chop and grab the footage I would use. Then another 2 days to create the montage. It gets very personal after put'n so much into something. So, I appreciate the help, the support and the understanding. I'm new to this whole computer biz, but I learn fast and I seek knowledge to learn more. Thanks again my friend! I like that land scape ideal too, I bet that was bomb.
