my action replay max cartridge is not working right, i tried to clean it with an alcohol swab like the person i bought it from suggested but that didn't work. i inserted it into my nintendo ds and then put the the game itself and it just keeps repeating "insert game cartridge". i am totally at my wits end!

Cleaning the cartridge with alcohol swabs is usually only when your DS is not recognizing it.

So your DS recognizes the action replay cartridge, but then you select codes and then put in game cartridge, it doesn't recognize the game.

Is that what you are saying.

yes and i originally thought it just had a problem recognizing the first game I tried with the action replay cartridge, but then I tried all of the games I have with the cartridge and they all said that same message. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem myself.

    Is it brand new.
Does your computer recognize it ok. And did you do any software updates or codes on it.

I never thought to ask , do you have the older version where you had to put the game cartridge in the action replay.

Or is the newest version where you put the Action Replay disc in, then change for game disc.

The older one I believe, you had to put the codes on it first.

    You could try a reset.

no it is a used one I believe. My computer recognizes the disc okay. I just tried to reset my ds like you suggested but I don't think it is working, I followed the directions to reset it and then as I hit the start and select buttons while holding the a and b buttons, the screen whites out and then I keep pressing all 4 of those buttons. When doing this reset how long do I keep pressing the buttons for? Since like I mentioned I kept pressing those buttons and nothing seemed to be happening.

Ok to reset, it is just press A+B while you turn on the DS

When screen appears Hold A+B and then press Select + Start while holding.

So did the screen appear before you press the Select + STart

Well thats good your pc recognizes the action replay

Did you check for software update, or make sure all codes are on the cartridge?

Okay now I am getting aggrivated. I tried to reset my ds like you said, and yes the start up screen appeared but with the same "insert game cart." I must be doing something wrong when resetting my ds, since when I followed your exact instructions, the screen whited out and I wasn't able to do anything else. I seriously don't know what I am doing wrong but if I'm not doing anything wrong with the reset could you tell me what I'm supposed to do after the screen whites out. Oh, and all the codes are there but I can't even access any software updates since when I plug my ds into my laptop with the usb cable and check the action replay code manager, it says that it is waiting on the ds when i have already plugged my ds in. Like I said, I am getting aggrivated with this action replay max.

No doubt these things can get aggravating.

Ok so the reset is not working properly. I have never had to do it so not sure the exact timing.

I had to reset my R6DS Real slot card once, and that took me a couple tries. But now of course it seems easy.

I hope that is just a typo above. It is the Action Replay cartridge that gets connected to your laptop, not the DS.

Ok so try this. I have done it this way.

When its plugged into DS, and says "insert game cartridge"

    Just press A

Then scroll and select your cheats. Then Insert game cartridge, then it should ask you to "insert Action Replay", so do that and then insert game cartridge again.

Look, I really appreciate your help on all of my inquiries. Nothing seems to be working with the action replay max that I have. If you could direct me on how to get the newer version or a better one than the one I have now I would be most grateful. Thank you kindly for your assistance.
