You cant take off the new halo maps using Ar!! You have to manually delete it off the hardrive using the M$ Dash or some other app.

you need to load up a game exploit, ftp into your xbox and then delete each of the map files but leave the other files so live still thinks you have them. you may get banned for it though. i dont know.

Im suspecting you dont have a modded xbox. If you dont just go into the memory tab in the M$ dashboard then go to xbox hdd. Then to halo 2 and delete all the map packs. And kerry suggestion is bad. You will get banned from matchmaking using his advice. This reason is because M$ scans ur xbox upon login!! So if your maps are modded they will detect the change in the map size. Thus banning you!!
Lets say your killtacular map pack is 100mb. If you delete a couple this canges the size of the killtacular map pack to 60mb.(keep in mind im making these sizes up im just trying to explain better!) When you sign in to live M$ scans you xbox for the sizes of this maps and relizes the size of your map packs have changed. Then the ban you from matchmaking!!!

No, it would just not let you go into matchmaking and tell you that "A player in your party is missing maps required by this playlist."

Adn it wouldnt ban you, most likely. Unless you did something stupid.

so if you deleted the maps, you would be able to play matchmaking when it plays old maps, but it wouldn't let you if you are about to play the new maps?

I couldn't tell you 100% but I think that's how it works. The only way to know for sure is to try. Just ftp the maps to your computer so you dont have to download again, just ftp then delete. Depending on how much of the file you delete, it may ask you to update for live again.
