activating windows xp

    hi guys,
    i had installed windows xp home edition on my comp and its given me a 30 day activation period, and i need to enter a correct activation code.
    the only thing was that the cd was not mine, but a friends, and now i only have two days remaining to activate,
    i tried the activation code that was on my compaq but it didnt work, can somebody help me please AND QUICKLY only 2 days remaining

    Either buy a legal copy of windows, or let it expire.
    No one here will give you any other solution, since that would be piracy, and therefore against forum rules.

    is their a way to crack it though i dont want you to tell me how but just a yes or no will do

    Woow, This is my first time to know that Windows xp home edition has trial version.

    Well you can try google it "windows xp home activation code".

    its not a trial but just a 30 day activation period

    Dude, like i said, no one will answer that question, even with a yes or no, and if they do, you can count on it the mods will have a word with them about piracy on the forums. So just don't bother asking.

    well i cant really because i used a legit windows xp pro disc that i got of a friend

    windows xp has cd sets and if your key does not go with the cd set it will not work. Also, even if you do crack it, which im not saying you can, you will have a problem with updates due to the microsoft genuine validation. so unless you are going to spend hours of googling and trial and error, its not worth it

    Open Internet explorer, tools, manage add ons, you will see a list of services, (don't forget the drop down window for more options), highlight Windows Genuine Validation tool, disable, apply, re-start Explorer.
