Purchased the CD Rom of "DVD X COPPY XPRESS" from BestBuy in USA in March 2004 for $50.I have just purchased a new PC and Ive tried to activate the programme for the very first time but the following message keeps appearing...."(100) The registration information was rejected by the server. Please try again or contact Technical Support".....I have contacted the support but they couldnt help as 123 Studios are out of bussiness. I guess ive lost $50 on this but can anyone explain anything else to try to get it going,or any recommendations on another programme. Thanks very much in advance.Ken
http://www.dvdxcopy-international.com/support.html.This is where you need to go to get support for dvd x copy xpress.I have just installed it on my new computer.I was getting the server error message just like you. The tech people said to temporary disable the firewall and that got me trough to the server. However, after that point it said that I had used all my (7) activations.I wrote back to them to explain the problem and they fixed the issue and now I can use the software on my system.
Thanks Peanuts,I did contact the support team by email before i put my plea for help on this site..i was told that they are not responsible for non activation of software sold by Studio 321(my version, and studio 321 are no longer in business) as they are "Copyxpress international"(possibly your version).I did try to activate it with Norton firewall disabled but kept getting same message.I was informed that "... International" sell a version that does work(your version). I remember reading last year that Studio321 were taken to court by the Hollywood film industry and were ordered to withdraw their software(my version?)and rereleased it with an "R" at the end of "Copyxpress" which didnt allow copying of dvd movies. If you look on www.cnet.com you will see that they no longer recommend "CopyXpress" as there have been many reports of failure to activate the software(like myself)..so i think i will buy"Click 1" which came out tops in their trials of copying software...Thanks again for your help mate..Kennz
kennz theres better programs than 1 click dude heres a few dvdshrink ,dvd decrypter (freeware) better CloneDVD 2 with anydvd (which i use) and IMHO its the best out there for ease of use and quality anydvd updates for life which you are going to need anyway with 1 click. Intervideo DVDCopy 4 which i have but is ok the picture quality is great but there are some problems with the program with not being able to control the burn speed and no re-aurthoring capablitites ,heres some links to help http://www.slysoft.com/en/ and guide to use the programs http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/index.html also remember to use good blank media as in Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim and burn at 4X max.
Thanks ABCD, im new to this DVD burning lark and ive just gone by various reviews on the web..Im interested in the "DVDXPLATINUM" (NO RELATION TO "COPY XPRESS")..its a bit pricey but i need an easy to use programme to copy loads of Hi8 camcorder tapes to DVD of my sons childhood(any advice or comments on my possible choice?)..Oh yeah if i had that girl sitting on the end of my bed i would have better things to do than burn dvd's...
I you as me if 321 studios was out of business I'd find it kind of hard to beleive.I think that this site is there new company http://www.dvdxsoftware.com/.It has all of the 321 software line just renamed.like dvd-x-vault = video vault, dvd-x-copy express = DvdXpress, gold, plat and so forth.I bet they just left the US because of the laws, and changed their image around so people here in the US would believe that they are out of business so they wouldn't have any hassles. But this is site has the exact software.
yeah anyDVD and cloneDVD are the way to go because they can be updated this would be the best choice.Dvd decrypter and dvd shrink will smoke dvd x copy express and leaves no nag screen at the beginning of the back-up.
BTW im in the US and got mine going I don't see why they didn't get yours going for dvd x copy. Can you run a patch in the files to bypass that?
I use dvd decrypter and shrink some much I could careless for dvd-x-copy, even if it does have a ripper in the program.I only used dvd-x-copy once because it would burn right on my cheap celeron computer.Yeah I see the version that you have the "RF" ripper free after all the courts told them to remove the ripper from the program. That why we have all these cheap dvd back-up software in the US with no rippers at CompUSA.
Thanks Peanuts, i had a look at>www.best-dvd-burning-software-reviews.com< this site said there is no connection with 123 studios DVD X COPY PLATINUM and DVD X PLATINUM ...maybe the wording is ambiguous and it is the same company in disguise relaunching itself..Name sounds too close for comfort. I really do need some way of getting analog video into my PC to burn onto dvd and that programme looked good to me...not too sure now!.By the way im an English guy living in New Zealand and getting hold of good software is a bit hard down here, believe me.Hope to be back in US next year with a shopping list of all those goodies to buy...im spoilt for choice compared to down here.
kennz you can download about any good program you want online. heres a link to some very good software http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/software.htm and guides in there to use them dont get to caught up on the reviews you read online about software there slanted you can get MUCH better info. on this site and most the software you can download and try for a free trial before you buy so play with some of the programs and see what fits your needs
