Good Day: I just purchased a new computer with Vista and with a 16x SATA DVD drive. I am using Nero 7 Express to burn a 4.4 GB DVD on a verbatim DVD-R and it take on average between 6:20 and 6:30 minutes. On other computer 1.8 GHZ Celeron runnng XP with a 2 year IDE LG 16X drive it writes the same files at 5:30 minutes everytime. I was thinking about buying another SATA drive to test the system and but anyone have some actual burning time for the new SATA drives? Thanks, Michael
Burners and systems just vary w/r to burn speed. See if you can find your burners reviewed at cdrinfo or cdfreaks. The burn times should be listed in the reviews.
