I finish reformatting and upgrading my computer. I want to make sure my drivers are the latest. I am throughly confused about Adaptec ASPI. My version is 4.71.

When i use aspick.exe it tells me the following files are installed: ASPI32.SYS (version 4.71.2) & WNASPI32.DLL (version 4.71.2). The following 2 files are not installed: WOWPOST.exe & WINASPT.DLL .

I have WinXP Home, 2.7gb laptop, 1 gb ram and an internal dvd r/w +/- and of course internal CD r/w. I plan to install Nero v 7 later on.

What should i do next? I truly appreciate any help. Thanks

    do nothing!

there is no need i have never (well i used to last year) updated my aspi drivers

i have yet to come across any problems.

if any program you want needs you to update your drivers (which i doubt)

said program will tell you to do it

    hope this helps

    thanks for the information.

now i am thinking to use a driver's update program - DriverMagic Pro - to upgrade my drivers.

i have never really used that program or for that matter really upgraded drivers.

    any advice or ideas?
