Ok, so here is the problem. I used to have two Hard Drive. I name them Drive C and D. Recently I've reinstall my operating system which is in Drive C. I took drive D out because I didn't want to lose the stuff on there. I've not got my new operating system on drive C. I'm trying to reconnect my drive D but it won't let me. I've try using the software that is provided but it will only let me add drive D if I erase everything on there. Can someone please help me. Thanks you very much.

Install the Operating System on the C drive. Change the jumper (a little 2 pin connection on the back where the cables connect) on the D drive to slave. Make sure the C is set to master. After that, you should be good to go.

Post back and let us know how you make out or if you need more help.

That's what I did but when I plug connect my drive D, and reboot my computer it doesn't recognize it. There is only drive C under my computer hard drive. I check the Hardware list my going to my computer property and there is two Hard drive. But for some reason on drive C show up in my computer.

Do you have the drives connected on the same ribbon cable? Did you use a new cable or an older one? Did you check the "strightness" of all the pins on the D drive (perhaps one is bent)? Did you make sure both drives are set to Master (C)/Slave (D) and not Cable Select?

What operating system are you using? Version of Windows?

he will have no choice if he set the hd as a slave drive and it does not show up in my computer..

or there is a problem with the drive,as a hd error can stop that drive from not working..or the drive is dead.

@Ireland That's why I asked the questions about the cable. Maybe it's bad?

@loveme23 Another question, does it see the drive in BIOS?
