i'm using one hard drive now (obviously) with windows XP (40gig). i'd like to add a second one (20 gig) but the second one right now has win 98 on it. do i format the drive without putting a OS on it or just leave it formatted? thanks for any help!
you can just slap the drive straight into your computer... if you want to format it you can do that later from within windows
i heard that might not be a good with win 98 on one and win xp on the other, in the same system.i seen on another thread that they clash and don't work well. have u tried this? thanks for your help
Once the second HD is installed you can format it with XP and erase Win 98. Your system will boot off the primary HD with XP. It shouldn't bother XP to have 98 on the second HD for a short time. You can format it before the install if you want to. Its up to you. Jerry
Just make sure in the bios of the comp you have the windows drive set as primary boot drive or your comp will try to boot the 98 drive.:>
