First off, I hope this is posted in the right forum. Anyone know of a good (freeware) program that will allow me to add a menu to a disc that allows you to watch which everone you should chose? By the time I'm done converting my movies to an iso image they are between 1 & 2 gb's and instead of wasting all the extra disc space I would like to add at least one more movie to the disc with a menu that would let me pick which one to watch. Thanks in advance,
From the other post, I understand you use Xilsoft's converter...DVD Flick or ConvertxToDVD will allow you to convert your files to DVD. You can add multiple files and create a menu that will let you choose which movie you want to play. Very straight forward. Otherwise, after you convert each movie, you have to use a program like TMPGEnc DVD Author, DVD Lab... to create a DVD with menus. http://forum.videohelp.com/topic318702.html
Not sure if I followed that completely. I did notice with the latest version of DVD Flick that I tried that It gave me the option of adding menus, with Xilisoft for instance, some movies are split and I have to add both of the titles for them to convert and have a full movie. There, at least from what I've seen is nothing there to add a menu. Hope these are freeware. Thanks for the help as it is always appreciated!
I am not sure that I follow the last part of your post: With DVD Flick- if you have a movie in 2 parts, you can add them and create a single movie( no menu necessary, you can create one if you want though) If you have 2 or more movies, you can create a menu and select the movie you want to play. However, every time I have a movie that is in 2 or more parts, I first join/append the parts( I use Avidemux, fast and easy, takes 2-3 minutes; VirtualDub can do that too). This way the transition between the 2 parts is smooth, flawless, no flicker, no jitter. Then I load the joined movie in DVD Flick.
Sorry, don't know of any free ones. Tried to google some, came up with shareware only. best choice would be to go with the converter that creates menus also.
Try DVD Styler, GUI for DVDAuthor (GFD), 'Q' DVD-Author. I think ConvertxToDVD will reencode the files even if it is already DVD compliant, which will result in some loss of quality.
Good piece of software DVD Styler. Don't know about ConvertxToDVD. DVD Flick has the option not to re-encode DVD compliant files.
