I was thinking of purchasing adobe encore and i was wondering what you guys here think about it. I'm new to dvd authoring and burning, i just got my nec 2500a. I hope to be putting divx moveies on dvd to watch in my player (re-encodeing as i understand it), burning backups of my existing dvd collection for the kiddies to use, and authoring and editing footage from my mini dv camcorder (mostly homemade porn... just kidding! lol). If any of you guys or gals have some experience with it let me know. Thanx
Yes Adobe EncoreDVD is a Good program for Professinals But is Generally Far to complex for most Poeple to use ,especially for The Stuff that you would be Doing.... The Reason why it is So expensive is because it has certain profeccinal Features that are only found on the Highest End Software ... It has Features Like 8 Seperate Audio/Language Tracks, and up to 32 different Subtitle Tracks but if you are Not going to be Putting More than One Language On your DVD"s and aren"t going to need to Put in Subtitles then it is a Little OverKill for most poeple, Pluss there are other Programs that have the Same features But are Much easier to use..(Adobe Encore has a Very Crowded Interface that takes a Lot to get used to and is very hard to learn) If you need something that has all of those Features but is Much easier to use I would recomend "Ulead DVD Workshop 2.0" , It also has support for Up to 8 audio tracks and 32 Subtitle Tracks Pluss and Endless menu"s... If you do not need all of those Features then something that will make Just as Good Looking DVD"s is one called "DVDLab" and it is only Like $79 and Makes very Nice and it can Make very Basic DVD"s and very Complex ones and is very easy to learn.... I would suggest you Learn how to Encode your DivX files and your CamCorder footage to Mpeg2 DVD instead of useing the Mpeg encoder that is Built into the DVD authoring program because the encoders that are built into Most DVD authoring programs are not very Good Quality Encoders and the Quality of your DVD"s will Suffer greatly.... A Couple Good encoders for Createing DVD Content are Tmpgenc and the MainConcept Encoder, a couple Higher end and More expensive encoders that would produce the best Quality are ones Like Canopus Procoder and CinemaCraft encoder SP but any of the ones I mentioned will produce Good quality DVD"S.... Well Good Luck
