Does any1 know how 2 get rid of ads so that they wont pop up anymore? I have pop up blockers that work but when i play a game such as rome total war/battlefield 2, my pop up blocker would block pop ups but then the game just minimizes and i end up at my desktop.

hey ddp, thanks for the help but even though i do all that, there is still ads that pop up and my pop up blockers still need 2 block it. When i play rome total war/battlefield 2, it still makes me go to my desktop when there is an ad that has been blocked.

well, i dont know how one manages to get popups while in a game, but while playing WoW, i use task manager and shut down everything non-essential, except firewall (and i turned off "notifications" . zonealarm)
popup stopper is very aggresive. won't even let me open a download box for programs. have to turn it off when downloading :)

    good luck

yeh, since last post i found a program that shuts down all non-essential processes. its called "smartclose" and is free (think i got it from cnet).

anyway, it identifies which progs are required by xp fairly well, and you can chose which ones to leave on (like playing WoW, i need "point32" running to access some mouse features in the game. and "OClock" an overclocking prog i use).

some progs it identifies as needed i happen to know aren't. (like "ehtray": this is related to win Media Center Edition, which i'm not using while playing games) so after a run of smartclose, i still go to task manager and see whats on. (spoolsv. ugh. like ima print something while killing orcs)

    ho[pe this helps.
