ADSL go question

    i have adsl go,it supports 4mbit/s.I can only go to 300kb/s when i download something,not faster...
    Is this because my modem from 3 years old??
    I dont know a lot about modems so do i have to buy a new one of is there another solution?

    are you sure you're not downloading at 300 kilo BYTES, not BITS? Because 4 mb is = 400 KB.

    yes that possible,but 400 kbytes is slow then.I've heard from people that they can download a full dvd in 9 minutes.Telenet?
    Damn,then i switch to telenet!!

    there are many different levels of dsl service. I have SBC, and they offer 350K, 750K, and 1.5M or something like that. So just because your modem/ISP can go UP TO 4M, you may not have that high of a service. Just a thought. About downloading a full DVD in 9 minutes off DSL, well, I'd have to see it to beleive it. I love my DSL, and its superfast, but not that fast. Thats 9 gigs in 9 minutes...1GB per min...no way.
