After deleting part of an avifile with avidub,the result file was bigger then the original.....wtf?

    After deleting part of an avifile with virtualdub,the result file was bigger then the original.....wtf?The video and Audio settings were on direct stream copy.The original file size is 704mb and the new copy (after deleting a small part of the beginning of the movie)is 705mb.....So can anybody please tell me what i did wrong???

    sounds like when you have deleted the part of the movie and saved it it has saved to the resolution of the divx software you have e.g when converting a dvd2divx you make the resolution of the movie the higher the resolution the higher the quality so go into the divx software and lower it

    Well, if you were to take out a section containing no keyframes, and the encoder puts in a keyframe where the cut is, you could in theory get a larger file.

    I'm not saying this is likely, but its possible.
