i just used the search button and checked the faq, but i couldn't solve this one myself. i have a direct connection, just 1 nic in my pc, and i use a cross over cable. (i've checked the cable and its working fine) this is how my config is. PC ip=192.168.0.2 subnetmask=255.255.255.0 XBOX ip=192.168.0.3 subnetmask=255.255.255.0 defaultgateway=192.168.0.2 the line status in evox says no link. and somehow when i check ipconfig it gives me all 0's, so i have an ip and subnetmask of 0.0.0.0 and the strangest thing is when i connect my "old" cable that goes to the cable modem and i check my ipconfig again it gives the correct ip adress.
go to the settings for your NIC and enter in the Subnetmask and the Default Gateway. the gateway would be 192.168.0.1. give that a try and see if that works.
