AIM 5.9 kicks me off whenever a specific person IM's me?

    I get kicked off AIM 5.9 whenever a specific person IM's me. I tried reinstalling it, but it didn't work. It only happens when that specific person IM's me though. Any help??

    same thing was happening to me. it occurred whenever the other person was using Trillian or a different version of AIM. i chalked it up to old code in aim 5.9 (it's ancient) and moved to the newer version of aim. it doesn't happen now.

    or that person is using some kind of program to kick you off. do you know the person?
