OK-i've been using AIM on my phone because i've heard it causes problems and adds a lot of junk onto your computer. Is there any truth to this, or am i safe to DL it to my laptop?
    thanks gang.

i wouldn't trust anything from a-o-hell. but you could always install it then do a thorough scan for viruses and ad/spyware and see...if you are feeling brave.

so, you have had problems with them or have heard of problems? What about Yahoo or MSN messenger?
I don't want any problems with my laptop, but its such a pain with my phone. The typing is fine; it's the trying to keep up with more than one person that is tough.

i would stick with Windows live MSN Messenger. It is a clean install and works very good.

There really is no install, is there? That's just the normal messenger that is at the top of my internet explorer, right? The bubble looking kinda guy...?
I've been thinking of switching to Firefox. What messenger do it use?
BTW-thanks for confirming that AIM is a bad choice.

firefox does'nt come with a messenger, that little bubbly guy on top of the IE is just a link run the program. but that messenger is the very old more simplified version that comes with windows xp. if you want the most recent version, in which i have not had any problems with so far go here.. the only thing is that you need to get your friends' hotmail/yahoo accounts to add them to your list. if you have any problems just post back

hm. thats never happend to me before, did you uninstall aim? also, try changing your password, just in case
you can also make msn today not pop up, cuz its a real pain in the ass. go to tools>options then click on the general tab, and uncheck the 'display windows live today after i sign in'
