Hey everyone, I am kindda new to this copy thing. I have downloaded Alcohol 120%. I have also downloaded a movie which is in a .avi file. I burned it using Alcohol but it wont play in my cd. My cd supports mpeg and svcd. Was I supposed to rip it first before using Alcohol. I download this program called All Video Converter but it was taken for ever to convert from .avi to mpeg or that svcd. Any ideas? I only have Cd-r's not cd-rw's, please help.
If you have a (S)VCD you can use 'normal' in the profile and make a direct copy (but it will work only if the VCD system is the same of your TV: PAL (S)VCDs for PAL, NTSC (S)VCD for NTSC. You have to extract the movie which is inside the (S)VCD, asd you were talking (D:\AVSEQ\AVSEQ01.DAT --> C:\your_dir\MOVIE.MPG for VCDs, D:\MPEG2\AVSEQ01.MPG --> C:\your_dir\MOVIE.MPG for SVCDs), re-encode the files with TMPGenc, for example [(S)VCD NTSC --> (S)VCD PAL or vice versa], and making a brand new (S)VCD with them, otherwise. If you have an AVI you must: 1) encode it in MPEG-1 (VCD) or MPEG-2 (SVCD), first read http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/110106 for hints on how to do VCDs or http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2svcd_with_tmpgenc.cfm (read from step FitCD; you'll load the AVI instead of the D2V project with TMPgenc, since it's AVI --> SVCD and not DVD --> SVCD) for making SVCD files (SVCD use VBR, so it's a little more difficult) 2) make a (S)VCD from the already ancoded movie, now in mpeg form (again, read http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/110106) Ah, how did you manage to put a file in a CD-R using Alcohol 120% ? It can only burn IMAGES of disks, not directly files. Maybe you put simply the file in a data disc (Open it with your CD-ROM unit, to ckeck. But how did you do that with Alcohol 120%, I don't imagine).
