    hi guys,
I had stupidly tried to install new ASCI after visiting the dvd shrink forum. Now I have had to re-install XP to get everything working again. I have re-installed all of my backup programs but now decrypter and x-copy are running really slowly. a 7.5Gb disc is now takin upwards of 40 mins to decrypt. even if I use X-Copy it's taking 45-50 mins...is there anything I can do to speed things up as previosly it was only taking 20-25 mins MAX!!!!

Go into your device manager, make sure all drives and IDE setting are set for DMA. They may have been re-installed in PIO mode.

Glad to help. We all learn and try to remember the little tricks that keep us going.

you could also defragment your hard drive. i usualy defrag once a week to make sure its running at top speed.
