first of all, allow me to apologize for not being able to find the answer to my question in the FAQ section or by searching, mainly because i'm more than likely way too dumb to know how to ask it or what to search for.

i have the nero 6 ultra edition and want to know if i can download any movie, regardless of file type, and have my nero program convert it to DVD format, or do i need a converting, authoring or editing program first before i can burn it? If i can do all this with just this one program, can someone please tell me in a simple, step by step fashion, how?....thank you very much in advance.

    Dear chabbies,
Nero can work with many popular video formats (e.g. mpeg, vob, wmv, asf), but not all (e.g. rm). There are also some avi formats that it often can't recognize. You can check out the respective guides/posts at this forum to learn more about these things.
In order for Nero to work properly, you also need the necessary codecs. K-Lite Codec Pack (mega version) would be a good choice.
    Happy DVD converting!
