I remember my old 486 computer, it was possible to add whatever sound-file to the windows startup and close-down, thath played instead of this idiotic window login-music whe chosed to add 2 WAV- from Warcraft 2 when closing down the computer the footman said “It doesnt get any better than this” the question is can you add a sound/music file like this with Windows XP allso? and if so, how do i do it?
Go to "C:\WINDOWS\Media". Replace "Windows XP Startup.wav" & "Windows XP Shutdown.wav with .wav files of your choice. It might be a good idea to rename the original files rather than replace so that if the new ones don't work you can go back to the "stock" sound files. Note: The sound files you use must be named exactly the same as the original sound files. They also must be .wav format (to the best of my knowledge anyway). Have fun.
thanks it worked great my plane whas to add the "Parker Lewis Cant Loose" Outro but 25 sec was to long oviosly for logging in to windows, seens the song was cutted after 5 sec so i was forced to choose the shorter gag between Jeltsin & Clinton there instead and USSR country song is a must for turning of the computer
